CAT 725 Pre-Operation Inspection Procedure
This training video outlines the required pre-operation inspection for the CAT 725 articulated off-road dump truck. The procedure focuses on identifying mechanical issues, verifying safe operating condition, and ensuring the machine is ready for field use before startup.
The video walks through a complete exterior walkaround inspection, including checking the back side of the wheels for signs of leaking oil or loose or missing hardware. Tire condition, lug hardware, and visible damage are reviewed as part of the standard inspection process.
Hydraulic lines, cylinders, and fittings are inspected for leaks or wear. Attention is given to checking the articulation joint area, frame condition, and visible structural components. The dump body and tailgate are reviewed to confirm there is no damage or obstruction that could affect operation.
Fluid levels are verified prior to startup, along with checking access points and steps for safety. The inspection reinforces identifying potential issues before operating the machine rather than addressing failures in the field.
This procedure is intended for operators and supervisors responsible for ensuring equipment safety, uptime, and compliance with company inspection standards.
