Glen Kernan Cottages, part of the larger RISE at Glen Kernan Park development, is a 55+ active adult community taking shape on nearly 50 acres at the entrance to the Glen Kernan neighborhood in Jacksonville, near the intersection of Butler and Hodges Boulevards. Developed by RISE: A Real Estate Company, the project pairs 74 private cottages with 234 apartment flats — 308 units in all, spanning more than 336,000 square feet of living space, with an estimated $94 million invested in the community. Residents will find a resort-style pool with cabanas, a fitness center, pickleball and bocce courts, a dog park, and an 8-acre feature pond woven through tree-lined streets. The community sits inside a larger mixed-use development anchored by retail, a Gate station, and a seven-story Embassy Suites, with the first units delivered in 2025 and the remaining phases wrapping up through 2026. Vallencourt was one of the local contractors on-site turning this acreage into a buildable foundation, laying the underground groundwork this Jacksonville-area community was built on.
