Perma Cold

PermaCold Logistics is a $60 million industrial cold-storage facility in Darien, Georgia, located within Tidewaters Industrial Park in McIntosh County. Positioned along Interstate 95 between the Ports of Savannah and Brunswick, the facility is built to serve as a regional gateway for refrigerated commodities moving through Coastal Georgia's port network. Developed by Ti Cold and Karis Cold for operator PermaCold Logistics, the refrigerated warehouse features a flexible design holding temperatures from 40°F to -10°F, with structural steel racking accommodating more than 30,000 pallet positions. The USDA-certified site is equipped for protein exports and imports—including frozen seafood and poultry—and can blast-freeze up to 600,000 pounds per day using high-efficiency QFM technology. Announced as the largest economic development investment in McIntosh County's history, the first phase is expected to create 50 jobs. Turning this site from raw land into an operating logistics hub required extensive sitework: mass grading, a full stormwater management system, a heavy-duty concrete truck court and loading apron, and the access and utility infrastructure that ties the facility into the surrounding industrial park.
